Housing Application
How to Fill Out a Successful Housing Application
Complete the online application yourself. It may be easier for you if your mom or dad fills out the application, but their
answers on your behalf won't be as accurate as your own answers. This information
is used to pair you up with a roommate so we want the information to be filled out
by you and we want you to be honest!
Complete your roommate profile. Skipping something you think may not be important may have a big impact on our matching
process. For example:
- Sleep preference: What time you get up or go to sleep will be very important at 6 a.m. if your alarm doesn't go off with your roommate's!
- Music styles: Country/western? Classical? Rap? We have learned that some music styles are a love/hate relationship and we try not to mix the two!
- Organization: Have you heard of The Odd Couple? One slob and one neat freak just doesn't work well in a dorm room, so please let us know if you are organized or not. Provide any information that may affect your room and/or roommate assignment. What kind of roommate you would like to live with is as important as the kind of roommate you would not. Everyone comes from a different background.
Read everything. Don't go through the application so fast that you miss some important information.
Take time to READ each section, including the instructions on each page.
Read the housing agreement. It is information you NEED to know. We know it looks long and boring but each piece
of information is something you will need to know—NOW or LATER!
Pay your $100 non-refundable housing reservation fee. You can pay the reservation fee online through InsideCBU under the Student Accounts
tab or at the Student Accounts Office. Instructions on how to pay the fee online is
listed on the housing application.
