International Celebration Week
November 18 - 21
International Celebration Week is promoted by the U.S. Department of Education and celebrated on college campuses all over the United States. We highlight multiple aspects of culture throughout each day of the week through events that highlight music, food, sports, and games.
Festival of Color
March 28
Festival of Color is a night to celebrate Indian culture, one of our largest international student population on campus. The evening starts with a bazaar where students can bargain for food, henna, and chai. The bazaar is followed by student performances representing traditional Indian style dancing. Finally we end with the Color Throw, the highlight of the event.
Cultural Café
Cultural Café is a once a month opportunity to highlight and experience a different culture through food, music, games and art. Each month we partner with our international students to provide an opportunity for them to show their culture to the CBU community. This is a chance to experience something new and meet some great people in the process.
Taste the Nations
Monday, November 18
Taste the Nations is our kick-off event each year where students have the opportunity to try food from many different regions of the world, and hear about other ways CBU is engaging in cultural awareness throughout the school year. Check out a highlight video of a previous year's Taste the Nations!
Lunar New Year
January 31
Lunar New Year is an important holiday for many of our international students and we want to celebrate alongside them! Millions of people around the world celebrate Lunar New Year, and every year on campus we ring in this holiday with food, boba milk tea, a photo booth with traditional East Asian clothing, and student and professional performances.
International Chapel
We understand our students come from all different backgrounds and beliefs. International Chapel (iChapel) is an opportunity for those in our Intensive English Program to learn more about Christianity in a smaller, discussion-based setting. During iChapel we have the opportunity to hear the stories from the Bible and discuss in small groups what was taught. As undergraduate students at CBU, you are required to attend 15 chapels in a semester and iChapel is a great way to meet this requirement. If you are interested in being a group leader for International Chapel, please let us know!
Intramurals & Outdoor Activities
Interested in sports or want to try something new? We would love to have you join one of our rec sports teams which include: basketball, flag football, volleyball and soccer. Sports are a great way to connect with others who have a similar interest and meet some new people so we would love to have you join us! Join us for our Outdoor Adventure events, too!
