Preparing for Graduation
Whether you are planning on starting your career or continuing your education it’s never too early to start thinking about life after graduation. As your time as an undergraduate student nears an end, here are a few things you can do to prepare for graduation and whatever may come next.
The Career Center offers a variety of resources to help students transition from school to career such as resume building and mock interviews.
If you are considering continuing your education in Graduate / professional school be sure to discuss your intentions with your Student Success Coach. It is never too early to start planning for your academic future as many graduate / professional programs require strategic and intentional preparation.
Before you register for your final undergraduate semester, be sure to see your student success coach for a Graduation Check. Your Student Success Coach will use your Degree Guide and transcript to check for all remaining graduation requirements.
Note: Students should review their InsideCBU degree guide on a regular basis to evaluate progress toward graduation.
Once you know your remaining requirements for your final semester you are ready to apply for graduation. Check InsideCBU to see Graduation Application deadlines and other important information.
A candidacy letter and official graduation evaluation will be sent to your LancerMail account when your graduation application has been reviewed. If you have questions about the status of your graduation application please contact the Office of the University Registrar.
If you completed the requirements for a Certificate, please submit the linked application in the semester final coursework is completed. The date of completion will be the date final coursework is completed.
Closer to the graduation date, you will receive additional information from Student Services. This letter will include information about the graduation process and important dates. The exit process is completed online through the commencement website. Information about the commencement ceremony and the exit process can be found online at http://www.calbaptist.edu/commencement.
Online classes often finish after commencement exercises have already taken place. This is especially true of second session classes. Assuming: (1) your candidacy letter shows all requirements will be satisfied if passed, (2) transfer work with sufficient grades or scores have been submitted, and (3) you pass all remaining required classes in your final semester, your degree will post.
Commencement Participation
Students participate in the Commencement related to their expected degree posting date as approved through the graduation application process.
