The Commuter Lounge
Operated by the Office of Community Life and the director of cultural and commuter programs, The Commuter Lounge is a home-away-from-home for commuter students, with a kitchen, computer lab, televisions, lockers, Wi-Fi, a study area and super comfy furniture. Located in the Cottage area (Cottage 1), it is central to campus and has a great community vibe.
Come relax and sink into a comfy leather chair, take a nap on our couches, sit and read a good book, grab lunch and eat with your friends, or store your own meal in the fridge. Connect with a friend and study together.
Exhale at The CL!
Hours of Operation

The Commuter Lounge is typically closed during Thanksgiving break, Christmas break and Easter break.
Commuter Sidewalk Café
On the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month, the Commuter Sidewalk Café takes place, which is specifically designed to bring commuter students together. Commuter students can enter to win giveaways and receive free breakfast as well as updates on upcoming activities and events.
Commuter Connection Lunch
The purpose of the Commuter Connection Lunch is for commuter students to get familiar with the various clubs being offered on campus. Commuter students have the opportunity to receive a free lunch during the club fair. They are given a passport card that will need to be stamped by a club member. After visiting five clubs and receiving five stamps, commuters will receive their free meal.
Commuter Christmas Party
A Christmas celebration specifically for commuter students. Commuters receive free food, giveaways, play fun games and have the opportunity to connect with other commuters.
Commuter Spring Picnic
It’s a picnic style lunch, free food and giveaways for commuter students. Commuters can bring lawn chairs, blankets, play games and hang out for a fun afternoon on the CBU Front Lawn.
The Commuter Scoop is a bimonthly email newsletter sent to commuter students to inform them of upcoming campus events.
