Although the 2020 Student Research Colloquium had to be cancelled, a list of students who were invited to present their research after peer review is available here. Congratulations to all our students on their excellent research!
2019
April 11, 6-8 p.m.
Location: College of Health Science, Bldg. A and L
For the third consecutive year, the CBU Student Research Colloquium accommodated a
packed house! This year’s event included 24 poster presentations of undergraduate
and graduate student research from the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (CBSS)
and the College of Health Science (CHS), as well as seven oral presentations with
the top abstract scores: Rebecca Coates (CBSS), Thomas Cunningham (CHS), Zachary Dembroski
(CBSS), Kayla Eddings (CBSS), Kayla Feher (CBSS), Kimberly Gledhill (CBSS), and Andrew
Greenfield (CHS). A full list of presenters can be found here. Research from a variety of disciplines was presented including: Athletic Training,
Forensic Psychology, Kinesiology, Nutrition and Food Sciences, Public Health, Social
Work, and Sport and Performance Psychology. This event, as in years past, was supported
by the College of Health Science, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, College
of Nursing, and the Center for the Study of Human Behavior. Food for the event was
kindly provided by Nutrition and Food Sciences.
2018

The second annual CBU Student Research Colloquium exceeded the high expectations set
by the first event. A lively poster session showcasing 69 student research projects
went on throughout the event, while oral presentations ran concurrently. The top 6
abstract submitters, Stefany Schmidgall (College of Behavioral and Social Sciences),
Alanna Gonzalez (College of Behavioral and Social Sciences), Wendeth Rauf (School
of Education), Kevin Innis (College of Health Science), Katelynn Buckner (College
of Health Science) and Andrew Yang (College of Health Science) gave oral presentations

2017
April 13, 6-8 p.m.
Location: College of Health Science, Bldg. A
As the inaugural year, it was hard to know what to expect in terms of submissions
and turnout. However, the turnout was great! There were a total of 25 student presenters and approximately
120 attendees. All students gave poster presentations except for the students that
obtained the highest scores on their abstract submission, Maria Perez (College of
Health Science) and Rosa Hunt (formerly School of Behavioral Sciences), both gave
oral presentations. Check out the full list of student presentations here. Dr. Jeff Gage from the College of Nursing concluded the event with a thoughtful and
inspiring presentation on becoming a researcher. This event was supported by the College
of Health Science, the Center for the Study of Human Behavior, and the formerly School
of Behavioral Sciences.
