All Day

International Arrival Day

• Sign up using the form emailed to you from International Admissions for a free ride from LAX to CBU
• Get settled in your on or off campus housing

Language Proficiency Test

This is only required for those who have not yet demonstrated English proficiency prior to arriving to campus. Location to be announced.

Check-In Fair

• Location: To be announced
• Bring your passport to check in as per US immigration regulations
• Participate in the Fair and visit booths to learn about:
  • Activities on campus 
  • Mobile phone plans
  • Public transportation around Riverside
• Join a campus tour

Welcome Lunch with the ISSS Staff 

• Join us at the at the Alumni Dining Commons. Lunch is complimentary for you and your guests.

Optional Activities

• Annex Open House! Come meet other international students, and spend time in the Annex, a space just for you!
• Join a campus tour

Angels Baseball Game

• Join the ISSS staff at an American Major League Baseball game at Angels Stadium. Tickets are free for new international students!

Riverside City Tour

• Come on a tour through Riverside, stopping at popular shopping centers, coffee shops and places of interest. Free coffee or boba for every student who attends!

Lunch with the ISSS Interns

• Connect with the ISSS intern staff at the Alumni Dining Commons. Lunch is complimentary for new international students

Resume Workshop hosted by CBU's Career Center

Come here how you can prepare your resume to apply for on-campus jobs, and hear tips and best practices from the knowledgeable Career Center staff. Bring your laptop to this session. Click here to sign up!

Orientation Session (mandatory for all new international students to attend)

• Location: To be announced
• Plan on attending this important orientation session where the ISSS staff will walk through essential topics for success, such as immigration policies, how to navigate your student health insurance, and how to get connected to the CBU community.
• Bring your laptop to this session

Welcome Dinner 

• All new international students are invited to attend a Welcome Dinner hosted by the ISSS staff. It's a great time to meet other people and kick-off your time as an International Lancer as we close out International Welcome!

CBU's Welcome Weekend

• Undergraduate students - Please plan to attend all the mandatory sessions for Welcome Weekend
• Graduate students - Contact your program director for next steps and any required program sessions you need to attend

Labor Day (An American Holiday)

• CBU Offices will be open this day; however, most local businesses in Riverside will be closed in celebration of the holiday. 

Fall 2026 Classes Begin

• Please note: Some academic programs begin before September 8. Check your class schedule to confirm specific start dates for your program.
