About the Foundations of Career Readiness Course

The Foundations of Career Readiness course is a one-unit career development course designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to successfully navigate their academic and professional journeys. Through evidence-based career development frameworks and practical application, students will gain a deeper understanding of their strengths, interests, values, and calling while developing the essential tools to prepare for internships, employment, and graduate or professional school — as well as becoming a solid candidate in a competitive market.

Throughout the course, students will explore career decision-making, professional branding, résumé and LinkedIn development, networking strategies, interview preparation and techniques, job and internship search techniques, and best practices for the workplace. Students will also engage in reflective activities and create a personalized career action plan to support their continued career development.
