General FAQs

California Baptist University uses Coursedog for program and course curriculum changes, additions, and deletions.

The required documents vary from the type of proposal begin used. The documents listed below are designed to assist originators during the proposal process to properly include all necessary information to their proposals.

Deadlines and meeting dates for the current academic year can be found here.

The curriculum submission process is open from June to February with deadlines for undergraduate and graduate levels once per month.  Please note, that the proposal approval processes are closed from March to May to prepare the new approval processes for the upcoming academic year’s catalog. Proposal submissions will not be accepted during this time frame.

New programs (majors, minors, and graduate degrees) must be approved by the Board of Trustees which meets three times per year. The required October deadline allows the new programs to be considered at the January BOT meeting. This also allows proper time for marketing and recruitment.

All new degree programs, including a program with a new modality and any certificate earned without receiving a degree, must be approved by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) before offering to students. This process can take up to six months

(New programs with rolling admission sessions/cohorts can be considered outside this established time frame.)
