Life at CBU

Why did you choose your major? What interested you in this particular field of study?
I chose my major because it allowed me to learn about a wide variety of job opportunities within the healthcare system. In addition, I was able to take the prerequisite courses necessary to apply to my graduate program.

What did you like about being in this program at CBU?
The faculty will always be one of my favorite things about CBU.

What did you think about your professors?
Fantastic! They really cared for me personally and helped me achieve my goals. I felt known, loved, and cared for.

Did you participate in anything else at CBU?
I was a Crazie, FYE leader, as well as an Undergraduate Admissions Visit Intern during my time at CBU.

How did you grow (spiritually, socially, educationally) while in this program at CBU?
I grew spiritually through the chapel services, faculty and students. I felt very fostered in my faith and was encouraged to think critically about how I could apply my faith to my future career. Socially, I was welcomed with open arms and met some of my best friends that I know will be in my life for a very long time. Educationally, I was challenged and supported.

Did your program help you figure out your purpose?
Yes! I learned that I wanted to work with people at the individual level and it reinforced my desire to be an occupational therapist.

Life after CBU

What have you done since graduating?
Since graduating, I have pursued graduate studies at the University of Southern California in their Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. I am currently pursuing my master's degree and have the plan to continue on for my doctorate.

How has your major and time at CBU prepared you for your life and career after college?
CBU has prepared me for my life after college by teaching me to learn and utilize my resources. At CBU I gained the confidence to have interpersonal relationships with my professors, and this has allowed me to be comfortable with speaking to my current professors professionally. In addition, I learned the value of professionalism while working in the Undergraduate Admissions Office.

Is there anything you learned at CBU that you still use in your professional life today?
Faith integration and discernment for how to share my faith is something I will use for my whole life.

How are you making a difference in the world? How are you living your purpose?
I believe I am making a difference in the world simply by using the gifts and resources God has presented to me. I do my best to love others well and work hard at my studies.

Would you recommend CBU to others?
I would definitely recommend CBU to others. I loved my time at CBU. The community, professors, and supportive environment are unmatched.
