The pathway from Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) to California Baptist University Lancer is simple and straightforward, and it starts at a community college.

Students will enter any California Community College and complete an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) or Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T) degree. This is A Degree with a Guarantee.  Once completed, the Associate Degree for Transfer program promises:

  • Guaranteed admission to CBU
  • At least 60 credits will count towards your bachelor's degree
  • Students will enter at junior class standing
  • For those entering a similar degree program as their ADT, a bachelor’s degree may be completed within two years
  • No more than 68 credits required to complete your ADT-Bachelor's degree

Steps for ADT Students to Follow

  1. There are 114 community colleges in California, but every community college does not offer every ADT. Check out the colleges closest to you to see what programs are offered that are most similar to the bachelor’s program you are interested in.
  2. Want to make sure your ADT choice will have a seamless transfer to CBU? Click the Learn More button above or view the table at the bottom of the page to see how it applies to a major at CBU.
  3. If you know what career path you are wanting to take, but are unsure which ADT and bachelor’s will be the best to help you get there, contact us at admissions@calbaptist.edu.
  1. Applying is the first step. Once you are accepted, be sure your degree is declared.
  2. Next, meet with your community college transfer counselor or ADT counselor and work with them to make sure you are on track to complete your degree program and IGETC (general education courses) in the amount of time you want. Also, find out if there are course options available to you within your degree.
  1. Your counselor will help ensure you are on track for a successful transition to CBU to complete your bachelors degree. Meet your counselor!
  1. During your final term in community college, submit your application to CBU. We operate on a rolling admission period but we recommend to complete your application as soon as possible.
  2. Once you graduate with your AA-T or AS-T, request your official transcripts, along with your IGETC certification, to be sent to CBU Undergraduate Admissions Office.
  3. When your transcripts have been evaluated and your ADT confirmed, you will be accepted to CBU! You will receive a letter from our Admissions Office notifying you of your acceptance with a list of next steps to take.
  1. In your acceptance email from the Admissions Office, you will be provided instructions on next steps, financial aid, registering for courses, housing options, among other important items of information.
  2. If Class Registration dates are available, register for the date that works best for you and our academic advising office will begin to prep your degree plan. After you complete Class Registration, you’re schedule will be reviewed by our Academic Advising office and verify you’re all set for a successful first semester at CBU!
