Researchers
Dr. John Park, PhD, serves as the assistant professor of psychology in the PsyD program at CBU. He received his PhD in clinical psychology at Loma Linda University. Dr. Park completed his predoctoral internship at the VA Illiana Healthcare System in Illinois. He went on to complete his postdoctoral fellowship at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. His current research focuses on exploring various psychosocial factors that contribute to diverse populations that may impact their mental health or overall quality of life.
Statement of Research Interest:
I have had the opportunity to work and collaborate with distinguished individuals
in the scientific community who engage in research that is truly inspiring and life
changing. I believe that research plays a vital role in furthering knowledge in our
field, but more importantly, in impacting the quality of life for people in society
in real and tangible ways. I have been very fortunate to partner and collaborate
with colleagues who also have a genuine passion to make a difference in people’s lives.
As an individual who is constantly learning and growing, it is my desire to draw out
the practical applicability of clinical research, and to make a positive contribution
to the scientific community.
His current research focuses on the following:

- The role of faith-based organizations in mental health services
- A qualitative examination of the motivational and spiritual processes of sex workers in the US and Mexico
- Assessing the impact of COVID-19 on cognitive functioning in COVID-19 patients
