1. What is MSITM?
CBU’s master’s degree in information technology management is a STEM program that prepares you to elevate your career in management and leadership positions in the information technology environment.

Through the MSITM program, you gain familiarity with current challenges and future direction in the information technology industry.

The core curriculum provides academic focus in law and ethics, organizational leadership, conflict resolution, project management, cyber security, emerging technology and disaster preparedness.

With the addition of the concentration classes, this comprehensive approach in our curriculum deepens your industry expertise, preparing you to navigate any challenge while preparing you for opportunities that come your way in the ever-changing information technology field.  

2. Are there concentrations offered in the MSITM?
The on-campus MSITM concentrates on business analytics, while our online modality focuses on information system structure.  

3. What are the program's entry dates and application deadline?
The ITM program admits students year-round.

  • For our on-campus modality, there are two start dates each year (fall and spring).
  • For our online modality, we offer three start dates per year (fall, spring and summer).

4. How long does the admission process take?
Once an application file and/or interview is complete, applicants will typically be notified of a decision within 3–5 business days. 

5. What is the GPA requirement?
Applicants are considered for admission based on GPA, transcripts, essay OR interview, and individual considerations.

Since one number cannot completely define you, we consider the total admissions packet when making admissions decisions. Any student, regardless of the type of bachelor's degree attained, can be admitted into the MSITM program.

However, when reviewing transcripts, our minimum GPA requirement is 2.75 or higher. If your cumulative GPA falls below this, please contact your admissions counselor for additional routes that may be available. 

6. Is there an accreditation for ITM?
California Baptist University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission. Additionally, the program is accredited by the ACBSP – Global Business Accreditation.  

7. How long does the program take to complete?
The MSITM is an accelerated, one-year program. Our online modality also offers a part-time option, which takes 20 months to complete.  

8. When do classes meet?
The MSITM program is designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals. It is a year-round program, consisting of three full semesters, which are divided into two 8-week sessions. Full-time students take two classes per session, while part-time students take one course at a time. 

Our on-campus modality meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. All courses are held on our campus where ample free parking is available.   

The online MSITM is fully asynchronous.  

9. Am I required to have work experience to enter the program?
No. However, the MSITM program is designed for the working professional looking to advance professionally. Students from a variety of life and academic experience and backgrounds are integrated into classes to maximize networking and learning across generations, cultures and industry specialties.  

10. Will I be able to get the classes I need when I need them?
As a service to our ITM students, your graduate advisor will pre-register you for all of your courses, from your first semester through graduation, when you enter the program. This allows you to plan out your life without worrying about which course you should take next and which course will be offered in which semester. 

11. What types of careers can I pursue with a degree in ITM?
Graduates of the MSITM program are prepared for a wide range of careers focused on improving workplaces and organizational effectiveness.

Common roles include computer and info researcher, computer network architects, computer systems analyst, info security analyst, network systems administrator and software developer.

Due to the proliferation of data within every industry and organization in the business world, ITM professionals work across all industries from large Fortune 100 companies to NGOs, which makes careers in information technology the center of any organization’s success.
