International Welcome Schedule

All Day

International Arrival Day

• Sign up using the form emailed to you for a free ride from LAX to CBU
• Get settled in your on or off campus housing

Language Proficiency Test

• Only required for those who have not yet demonstrated English proficiency prior to arriving to campus

International Student Check-In

• Location: To be announced
• Bring your passport to check in
• Learn about:
  • Activities on campus
  • Mobile phone plans
  • Public transportation around Riverside
  • Join a campus tour (links below if you would like to sign up in advance)

Welcome Lunch with the ISSS Staff 

• Join us at the at the Alumni Dining Commons. Lunch is complimentary for you and your guests.

Mandatory Sessions 

• Location: To be announced
• Learn about topics related to:
  • Academic success in the US
  • Immigration policies
  • CBU culture
  • Life as an international student
• Mandatory Sessions are only for students. We welcome family and guests to enjoy other activities on or off campus during these sessions. 

Campus Tour 

• See our beautiful campus, and locate various resources that will help aid you during your time as a CBU Lancer

International Student Welcome Dinner

• Close out the day with dinner with dinner and games with other international students

Riverside City Tour

• Join the ISSS staff on a tour through Riverside, stopping at popular shopping centers, coffee shops and places of interest
• Free coffee or boba for every student who attends!
• We'll end with a visit to Target for some shopping

Lunch with the ISSS Interns

• Connect with the ISSS intern staff at the Alumni Dining Commons. Lunch is complimentary for new international students

Annex Open House

• Location: Lancer Arms 48
• Hang out at the International Center Annex, a student space for studying, games, or hanging out with friends

DSO Office Hours

• Location: Lancer Arms 56
• Come chat with a DSO about questions related to being an F-1 visa holder or a CBU student

Dinner with the ISSS Interns

• • Dinner at the Alumni Dining Commons, complimentary for new international students

CBU's Welcome Weekend

• Undergraduate students - Please plan to attend all the mandatory sessions for Welcome Weekend
• Graduate students - Contact your program director for next steps and any required program sessions you need to attend

Labor Day (An American Holiday)

• CBU Offices will be open this day; however, most local businesses in Riverside will be closed in celebration of the holiday. 

Fall 2026 Classes Begin

• Please note: Some academic programs begin before September 8. Check your Spring schedule to confirm start dates for your program.
