Meet Some of Our Faculty
Lisa Bursch
Associate Professor of Nursing
When I was 10 years old I was in the hospital for surgery. The nurses were awesome
and I knew at that time I wanted to be a nurse and help others. I have been a nurse
for 28 years and a pediatric nurse practitioner for 23 years. As a nurse, I have the
privilege of being with people at their most joyous time and their darkest, and in
all circumstances, I share the love of God with them. My husband and I live on 5 acres
in Temecula wine country where we have four dogs, two horses, and a cat. This keeps
us very busy!
I have been honored to be a nurse for over 30 years. I was a PICU/CVICU nurse for
over 20 years, where I was a member of the ECMO team, a member of the transport team,
a charge nurse and a manager. I love to teach, mentor and disciple students; serve
those who are weak and vulnerable; share the love of Jesus with the lost; and volunteer
in the community.
I am a practicing APRN with experience as a nurse practitioner and educator. After
graduating with an MSN degree from California Baptist University in 2013, I pursued
several certifications, including family nurse practitioner, acute care nurse practitioner
and emergency nurse practitioner, among others. I have worked in family practice internal
medicine, the emergency department and I currently work as a neurology nurse practitioner
specialist with stroke services.
