Program Intro

Coursework in CBU's M.S. in Biomedical Sciences includes heavy didactic training in biomedical areas to prepare students for the curriculum and rigor of graduate/professional study. Students will also have the option of performing research, getting volunteer or paid clinical experience, and preparing for professional exams.

What You'll Learn

  1. Demonstrate competency in the biomedical sciences at levels comparable to regional and national levels.
  2. Critically analyze scientific journal articles in biomedical sciences such that hypotheses, methods, and results can be articulated, and new experiments and studies hypothesized.
  3. Analyze contemporary issues in the biomedical sciences with a Christian worldview and in the context of spiritual teaching, such that they be both informed and engaged in public discourse.
  4. Apply their knowledge in the biomedical sciences through participation in an integrated experience, including bench or library research, internship opportunities, etc.

Program Details

BIO 525: Medical Genetics

This course will involve basic principles of heredity (including cytogenetics, molecular and Mendelian genetics) and the processes that lead to genetic variability in humans.

BIO 531: Pathophysiology and Histology

The course begins with an introduction to general pathological mechanisms at the molecular and cellular level as well as an overview of histology.

BIO 535: Medical Pharmacology

This course will introduce the student to basic and clinical pharmacology as related to the promotion of health and alleviation of disease.
