To start off with, I am grateful for all that God has provided me with. Not only has
He equipped me with an able mind and body to understand academic concepts, but he
also equipped me with loving and supporting parents, family members and friends. With
that being said, I would like to thank my parents for prioritizing my education, and

I am grateful to my parents for all of my success. Growing up, my parents demonstrated
what it meant to be hard working. They also taught and showed me what it meant to
love what you do. I have found my passion in nursing, and I am able to take all the
skills that my parents instilled in me and apply these to nursing. My parents have
raised me to be the woman that I am today.

After graduating and passing the NCLEX, Sloane plans to work at Kaiser Permanente,
Scripps Hospital, or CHOC to gain experience and specialize as a NICU nurse before
going back to school to pursue a master’s or doctoral degree, ultimately becoming
a neonatal nurse practitioner.
For whom are you grateful for your success, and why?
I am grateful for my parents and credit them in my success, as they have been my biggest
support system, have always believed in me, and continuously encourage me to do better
than my best in everything I set my mind and heart to. I am also grateful for my brother,
who is one of my biggest role models in life and motivates me as a person and student.
I am grateful for my teachers that I have had along the way who have guided and helped
me. Lastly, I am very grateful to God for his many blessings and opportunities that
He presents to me and letting my path unfold as it should.
