Life at CBU

Why did you choose your major? What interested you in this particular field of study?
Two things you will have to deal with your whole life are people and money so I thought I might as well equip myself with tools to help me succeed in both of those areas.

What did you like about being in this program at CBU?
I got the classes I wanted when I wanted them and had an environment at CBU that allowed those who wanted to learn to do so.

What did you think about your professors?
Everyone was extremely willing to help ensure you learned if you were interested in spending the time. I felt like I not only had professors relaying content but tutors to help me learn after hours if needed.

Did you complete an internship?
Yes, I was recruited on campus by Nordstrom for their summer internship program. I was brought into a product line I knew little about, but left with strong experience in learning the value of quality products and customer focused business model that I have brought with me in every job since then.

Did you participate in anything else at CBU?
I broadened my horizons a lot there by participating in activities I had never done before, including trying my hand at male choral, elective classes in self-defense and even bowling, as well as school sponsored mission trips.

Life after CBU

What have you done since graduating?
Since graduating, I have had to work hard and trust God with my steps, but through the course of less desirable positions and job opportunities, I have been blessed to land several good job opportunities in both the oil and technology industries.

Is there anything you learned at CBU that you still use in your professional life today?
Many things, one of which being that God’s principles applied to business are what make you fundamentally successful. I also found a lot of value in learning business and organizational development.

How are you making a difference in the world? How are you living your purpose?
By selling with integrity. I love working with clients and equipping them with technological solutions to truly help them grow and develop their business success. I can live my purpose by how I conduct my business and by how I interact with others in my business environments.

Anything else you’d like to add?
Education is an investment, take it seriously. Your work ethic and drive matter and if you don’t take school seriously don’t expect to just get a great job because you have a degree. Make the most of your time at CBU as a whole with events, activities, service, sermons and even internships to grow at that time in your life.
