Important Dates and Deadlines
- Application Dates
The Spring and Fall 2024 applications are open! It is important to note we offer rolling admissions and do not have a deadline for students to complete their application by.
- Application Requirements
Our application is simple. We require students to submit a 3-5 paragraph essay, pay a $45 application fee, and send us their official transcripts. For more information, click here to view our application requirements and how they apply.
- Lancer Select
If a student applies to CBU and gets admitted by our priority deadline of December 1st, they will be part of Lancer Select, a special group of our early-admitted Lancers. For more information about the benefits of being a part of Lancer Select, click here!

First-Time Freshman FAQs
- Do you accept AP/IB/CLEP exams for credit?
Yes, we accept AP/IB/CLEP exams. We will need an official score report to process these exams for credit. Click here to see scores needed to receive credit.
- If a student has completed more than 24 units of dual enrollment or college credit
should they apply as a first-time freshman or as a transfer student?
If a student has completed 24 or more college units but has not graduated high school they will be required to complete a First-Time Freshmen application. They will need to submit an official copy of their college transcripts in order to receive credit for completed dual enrollment or college coursework.
- Does CBU require test scores for admission?
No, we no longer require the ACT, SAT, or CLT as an application requirement and they are no longer considered in the admission decision. However, students still have the option to submit their score(s) for English/Math placement.
Transfer FAQs
- Who qualifies as a transfer?
To be considered a transfer student when you apply to CBU, you must have completed 24 or more units from an accredited college or university. Don’t worry if you have not completed 24 college units yet, you can apply as a first-time freshmen and provide us transcripts from your college or university for credit evaluation.
- Can transfer students receive academic scholarships?
Yes! We offer four academic scholarships for transfer students ranging from $7,000-$11,000 per year. These will be awarded to students who are admitted to CBU and meet the minimum GPA requirements.
- Where can I find more information for students interested in transferring to CBU?
We created a webpage just for transfer students. Click here or go to www.calbaptist.edu/transfer for more information.
