The need and opportunity for skilled nurses has never been greater. For nearly two
decades, CBU's College of Nursing has been committed to the mission of preparing graduates
to become excellent nurses who serve others as image bearers of God.
The CBU College of Nursing trains students with state-of-the-art nursing equipment
and a Simulation Lab, so students practice in the classroom what they'll need to know
in their clinical rotations. To ensure students receive a variety of clinical experiences,
rotations take place at various hospitals, health care facilities and the community.
CBU is the first university in Riverside County to offer a bachelor's degree and above
in nursing. Our graduates are actively recruited by local and state health care providers.
BSN and MSN-prepared nurses are shown to provide better outcomes for patients.
Serve the world through nursing
The mission of the College of Nursing is to educate competent, responsible, caring
and professional nurses prepared from a biblical worldview to serve locally, nationally
and globally; revering the human dignity of all persons created in the image of God.
Let me be the first to thank you for your interest in the CBU College of Nursing,
one of the best private Christian nursing schools in California. Though the preparation
to become a highly qualified nurse is demanding, the practice of nursing is one of
the most noble and rewarding callings that an individual can pursue. We look forward
to speaking with you and joining together in the service of humanity.

The need and opportunity for skilled nurses has never been greater. The combination
of long-term factors, including a growing elderly population and changes in state
and national health care regulations, are driving a demand for nurses that will continue
to grow in the years to come.
For nearly two decades, CBU's College of Nursing has been committed to the mission
of preparing graduates to become excellent nurses who serve others as image bearers
of God.
CBU nursing students, both undergraduate and graduate, serve in many ways and in many
locations. They serve locally in clinical rotations and by donating their time, resources
and care through community outreach programs such as serving food to the homeless.
They also serve globally on global engagement trips, evaluating local and global health
disparities and serving vulnerable populations within the community.
CBU is the first university in Riverside County to offer a bachelor's degree and above
in nursing. Our graduates are actively recruited by local and state health care providers.
If you believe that you may be called to engage your heart and mind in the profession
of nursing, please contact us for more information about CBU's undergraduate and graduate
programs in nursing.
We look forward to speaking with you and joining together in the service of humanity.
The College of Nursing has an excellent reputation in the community as does the university.
We anticipate our graduates will be actively recruited by local and state health care
providers. CBU is the first four-year regionally and nationally accredited university
in the County of Riverside to be approved for such a program.
The Nursing Annex and the Robert and Phoebe Lambeth Prayer Garden at California Baptist
University was dedicated in 2014. At the time, it tripled the space available for
classrooms and laboratories for the nursing school that was established in 2005.
For additional experiential learning, students also enjoy access to CBU's state-of-the-art
Clinical Simulation Lab and Resource Center. These rooms are equipped with low fidelity
and high fidelity simulation equipment, human-computer interaction programs, and advanced
practice task trainers for customized learning.
CBU students interact with Rugar, a therapy dog, who visits campus several times a
week. Because of Rugar, nursing students are able to see how a dog can help patients
through animal-assisted therapy. Rugar also benefits nursing students in reducing
anxiety.
Studies show BSN and MSN prepared nurses are more likely to demonstrate professional
behaviors important to patient safety including: better clinical judgment, critical
thinking skills and problem solving, performance of complex functions, effective communication,
and early detection of complications and problems in care.
All BSN and MSN students are required to participate in clinical practicum hours as
mandated by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). The CBU College of Nursing
meets or exceeds all clinical hour requirements. To ensure students receive a variety
of clinical experiences, rotations will take place at various hospitals, health care
facilities and the community, as assigned.
California Baptist University (CBU) is accredited by the Western Association of Schools
and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Regional accreditation
by WSCUC means you can be confident that your CBU degree is recognized and respected
by schools and companies across the country.
The College of Nursing at California Baptist University is accredited by the Commission
on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This national accreditation demonstrates we
have met all standards relative to quality and integrity of our excellent programs
in nursing.
