
Business Information Technology (BIT) Advisory Board

The CBU BIT Advisory Board is comprised of a group of university and community stakeholders from various local, regional, and national institutions. The focus is to align common interests in active participation, shared mission, and direct influence with students, faculty, and other board members. The interests from CBU are to improve the overall quality and reach of three technology programs within the Jabs School of Business: BS in Computer Information Technology, BS in Cyber Security, and MS in Information Technology Management.
Specifically, the purpose of the board is to:
- Provide advice regarding subject areas and certifications with growing market demand.
- Identify knowledge and skills that will make CBU IT students more employable.
- Promote opportunities for student success during their studies and after graduation.
- Provide recommendations on program content.

Dr. Cherie Noteboom
Cherie Noteboom is a Professor of Information Systems in the College of Business and
Information Systems, Coordinator of the PhD in Information Systems and Co-Director
of the Center of Excellence in Information Systems at Dakota State University. She
holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from University of Nebraska-Omaha. In addition,
she has earned an Education Doctorate in Adult & Higher Education & Administration
& MBA from the University of South Dakota. She has a BS degree in computer science
from South Dakota State University. She researches in the areas of Information Systems,
Healthcare and Project Management. Her industry experience runs the continuum from technical computer science endeavors
to project management and formal management & leadership positions. She has significant
experience working with Management Information Systems, Staff Development, Project
Management, Application Development, Education, Healthcare, Mentoring and Leadership. She has served on several Nursing College Advisory Boards, YMCA Board of Directors
and K12 School Board. Noteboom actively participates in PMI, AIS, ACM and HIMSS. She
has held the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation since 2000. Noteboom
enjoys running, fishing, reading, photography and travelling.

Juan Piacquadio, CIO and VP of IT, is a transformative technology leader with over
20 years of experience in healthcare and life sciences. Renowned for driving digital
innovation and aligning IT with strategic goals, he empowers diverse teams to achieve
excellence. Recognized among Virginia's Top 25 Healthcare Technology Leaders in 2023
and a 2025 CapitalCIO ORBIE Award finalist, Juan is a sought-after speaker and published
author, contributing thought leadership on industry transformation and cybersecurity
to advance the field.
