Faith, Lamentation, and Compassion Lab
Mission Statement
The mission of the Faith, Lamentation, and Compassion Lab is to better understand the way that we can still thrive and be happy in the face of human suffering. We use scientific inquiry to gain knowledge to ameliorate pains, sorrow, and grief in human lives.
Research Interests
The research conducted in this lab is broadly interested in "how to live" as a stranger in this broken world (1 Peter 2:11). We explore what to believe (Faith), how to communicate with God (Lamentation), and what to do (Compassion) in the face of human suffering. Studies in this lab are exploring ways of pursuing a meaningful life under such conditions. We expect this knowledge to contribute to scientific dialogues about each keyword and provide empirically supported information on the best way to live.
Foundational Scripture
