1. What is an MBA?
California Baptist University’s Master of Business Administration helps you envision
the next stage of your professional journey.
Our faculty and staff in the Robert K. Jabs School of Business create a supportive community, delivering our devotion to Christ’s teachings combined with current business constructs for you to realize your professional aspirations and role within our greater world.
You’ll start with core critical-thinking business skills necessary for success in the program and ultimately in your professional journey. In collaboration with your core learning you will be focused on specializations within our concentration courses.

2. Are there concentrations offered in the MBA?
The on-campus MBA offers four concentrations:
- Business Analytics
- Management
- Digital Marketing
- Healthcare Administration
Our online modality offers two concentrations:
- General Management
- Accounting
3. What are the program's entry dates and application deadline?
The MBA program admits students year-round.
For our on-campus modality, there are two start dates each year (fall and spring).
For our online modality, we offer three start dates per year (fall, spring and summer).

4. How long does the admission process take?
Once an application file and/or interview is complete, applicants will typically be
notified of a decision within 3-5 business days.
5. What is the GPA requirement?
Applicants are considered for admission based on GPA, transcripts, essay OR interview,
and individual considerations. Since one number cannot completely define you, we consider
the total admissions packet when making admissions decisions.
Any student, regardless of the type of bachelor's degree attained, can be admitted into the MBA program.
However, when reviewing transcripts, our minimum GPA requirement is 2.75 or higher.
If your cumulative GPA falls below this, please contact your admissions counselor for additional routes that may be available.
6. Is there an accreditation for the MBA?
California Baptist University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University
Commission. Additionally, the program is accredited by the ACBSP – Global Business
Accreditation.
7. How long does the program take to complete?
The MBA is an accelerated, one-year program. Our online modality also offers a part-time
option, which takes 24 months to complete.
8. When do classes meet?
The MBA program is designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals.
It is a year-round program, consisting of three full semesters, which are divided
into two 8-week sessions. Full-time students take two classes per session, while part-time
students take one course at a time.
Our on-campus modality meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. All courses are held on our campus where ample free parking is available.
The online MBA is fully asynchronous. You will have due dates, however the time of day that you complete your coursework is flexible.
9. Am I required to have work experience to enter the program?
No. However, the MBA program is designed for the working professional looking to advance
professionally. Students from a variety of life and academic experience and backgrounds
are integrated into classes to maximize networking and learning across generations,
cultures and industry specialties.
10. Will I be able to get the classes I need when I need them?
As a service to our MBA students, your graduate advisor will pre-register you for
all of your courses, from your first semester through graduation, when you enter the
program. This allows you to plan out your life without worrying about which course
you should take next and which course will be offered in which semester.
11. What types of careers can I pursue with a degree in the MBA?
Although the majority of our students are currently employed, graduates of the MBA
program are prepared for a wide range of careers focused on improving workplaces and
organizational effectiveness. Common roles include financial manager, marketing manager,
human resources manager, medical manager, accountant, operations director and computer
and information systems manager.
MBA professionals work across industries such as healthcare, technology, sports, government, education and nonprofit organizations, applying critical thinking and strategic decision-making principles to leadership, business analytics, employee engagement, marketing implementation and organizational strategy.
