Why Earn Your Multiple Subject Credential at CBU?
Become qualified to teach in California
This program is for California credentials ONLY. Students will complete the requirements for a California teaching credential, and their fieldwork and student-teaching must be completed in California, as well. Designed to meet compliance with California state legislation, courses cover interdisciplinary topics including teaching English language learners, clinical reading instruction and integrating technology.
Put theory into practice
Students will be required to complete 50 hours of in-person school-based fieldwork as well as traditional student-teaching for a full semester in a classroom. CBU works with students to find a school in their region, though it must be in the state of California. The required student-teaching component provides valuable hands-on experience which allows students to develop their skills as working teachers. Many of these teaching and internship experiences turn into employment opportunities.
