Students may select an optional concentration in one of the following areas:
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Computed Tomography (CT)
Computed Tomography (CT) Concentration
This program will educate students to become special Imaging technologists, and work
in a highly specialized field operating sophisticated imaging equipment. This program
will educate students in all facets of computed tomography (CT) and prepare students
to become licensed as computed tomography (CT) technologists.
This program will support the mission of CBU, and the College of Health Science by
adding advanced imaging professionals into the community that we serve.
Admission into the program requires a good standing in the CBU Radiologic Sciences
program or possess a current and valid CRT and ARRT license in Radiography.
This course will provide a broad understanding of physics and imaging techniques used in computed tomography (CT). Principles related to data acquisition and image formation are presented along with post processing, display, and archival techniques. Pre- or Co-Requisite: RAD 499. (3 units; Summer)
Instructor | Start Date | Days | Time | Location |

This course provides the clinical education necessary to become proficient in the skills required of a CT technologist. Each student is required to complete a total of 375 clinical hours and the clinical experience requirements as outlined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Pre- or Co- Requisites: CTI 425 and RAD 499. (4 units; Summer)

This course introduces concepts related to disease with etiological considerations. This course provides an understanding of how the disease process works and recognizing the radiographic appearance of specific diseases. Anatomical structures will be located and identified in axial (transverse), sagittal, coronal and orthogonal (oblique) planes. Pre- or Co- Requisite: RAD 499. (2 units; Summer)

This course will serve as a review of cross-sectional anatomy. Anatomical structures will be identified and demonstrated in axial (transverse), sagittal, coronal and orthogonal (oblique) planes using cross-section imaging. The images will be referenced and compared to MR, ultrasound and CT planes. Prerequisite: Enrolled in a radiologic science program or a licensed radiologic technologist. (3 units; Summer)
