A general survey of microorganisms with an emphasis on bacteria. This course will introduce the student to basic and clinical pharmacology as related to the promotion of health and alleviation of disease. The course will consider drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, and pharmacodynamic effects on the human body. The overall goal of this course is to increase the student's awareness of the molecular, cellular, and genetic mechanisms that lead to cancer formation.
