tuition assistance

Tuition Assistance (TA) is a Department of Defense benefit paid to current service members of all branches of the Armed Forces to assist with the cost of tuition. Those who may be eligible are members of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and the Coast Guard. Participation in this program is for our servicemen and women enrolled in CBU online degrees and course offerings. The current TA rate is $250 per unit.

How to Apply for Tuition Assistance

Military Tuition Assistance Recipients

Military Tuition Assistance is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded. When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded. To comply with the U.S. Department of Defense policy, CBU will return any and awarded TA funds on a proportional bases through at least 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided. If a service member stops attending due to a military service obligation, CBU will work with the service member to identify solutions that will not result in a student debt for the return portion.

Withdrawals

A student’s official withdrawal date is used as the last date of attendance and to calculate earned percentage of TA. The last date of attendance (LDA) is provided by the course instructor when a student withdraws from the class. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period with unearned funds returned based upon when a student stops attending.

During week 2 75% return
