Student Health Insurance

CBU requires active Health Insurance for the following student populations:

  • All traditional undergraduate students at CBU enrolled for 7 or more units.
  • All Nursing Students (Graduate, OPS, and Undergraduate).
  • Graduate Students in the Athletic Training, Physician Assistant and Speech Language Pathology programs.

In accordance with this requirement, all students required to have health insurance are automatically billed for the Student Health Insurance Plan.  This fee is dropped once the online waiver form is approved showing proof of active insurance coverage.  Approved waivers are valid for the full academic year.

Please note that there have been some new changes to the waiver process for the 2021-2022 school year.  All waivers will be electronically verified and most correspondence will be coming to your LancerMail from Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk.

Gallagher Student Health accounts have been created for the student populations above. Check your LancerMail for an email from notifications@gallagherstudent.com with the Subject Line: Verify Your Gallagher Student Health Account. This email will include your temporary password. Follow the instructions to reset your password. Waiver and enrollment instructions are listed below.

  • Waiver Information
The Fall 2021 Student Health Insurance wavier is now available and will close on September 21st at 9pm.

    • How do I waive the insurance?
      1. Login to the Gallagher Student Health Website using your LancerMail email address (i.e. FirstMiddle.Last@calbaptist.edu).
        • If you do not know your Gallagher password, click the option to reset your password, and the instructions will be sent to your LancerMail.
      2. Click the yellow ‘Waive’ button under the ‘Plan Summary’ tile.
      3. Follow the instructions to complete the form.
      4. Once the waiver is successfully submitted, a confirmation number will be sent to your LancerMail with further instructions and next steps. This number only confirms submission, not approval of your form.
      5. If your waiver is approved, please allow up to seven (7) to ten (10) business days for the fee to be removed from your course and fee statement.
      6. If you receive an email that your waiver has been denied, please follow the instructions provided to correct the issue (i.e., uploading supporting documents)

If you experience difficulty with completing the waiver, please visit the Gallagher Help Center by selecting the Help Center option from the Menu button in the top right corner of the Gallagher Student Health Website.

You can also call the Help Center at 877-371-7602.  Please be aware that customer support is in the Eastern Time Zone.

    • What if I cannot log in to the waiver?

If one of these applies, you may not be able to access the waiver:

      • You are currently enrolled in under seven (7) units.
        • The insurance fee will automatically drop from your student account after the University's published date for adding/dropping a course with a refund.
        • Once you enroll in seven (7) units or more you will be given access to complete the waiver.
      • The email address used to log in is incorrect.  Be sure you use your LancerMail address that has your name, not your ID number.
      • You recently enrolled in classes, and your information has not been uploaded to Gallagher Student Health Website yet.  (Please allow one to two business days after you enroll in classes for the waiver to be available.)

If you continue to experience difficulty logging in to the waiver, please contact the University Card Services office at 951-552-8552 or email  cardservices@calbaptist.edu.
