- "The Oxford trip was life changing and it inspired me to go outside of my comfort
zone."
Vanessa Affeld, 2013 - "Oxford was the best thing that could have happened to me! I enjoyed everything about
the trip, the culture, how nice the people are, the food, and the architecture of
the buildings. I am looking forward to visiting Oxford again real soon!"
Michael Cox, 2013 - "The best part about the Oxford trip was getting to experience a new country with
my fiancé, Tyler, who is an MBA student at CBU. Dr. Weniger gave us so many opportunities
to travel all around not only Oxford, but England itself, by setting up fantastic
tours and even a Shakespeare play by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Dr. Weniger was
so laid back, but also so helpful and fun and treated us as adults which was so refreshing
as well. As my fiancé and I look back on our college careers, we can say without a
doubt that our Oxford experience was by far the most fun adventure and educational
experience we ever had! We are so thankful to the Lord and Dr. Weniger that we were
provided such an incredible experience!"
Lauren Knuppe, 2012 - "Oxford was amazing. Even though I am not a business student and took the class as
an elective and a chance to see England, I learned a lot and had a great experience.
It was an experience I would repeat if I could."
Jennifer Hatcher, 2011 - "It was such an honor to be allowed to study at Oxford, and such a pleasure to travel
with a great group of students and professors. I looked forward to this trip for months,
and it exceeded my expectations."
Stephanie Fluitt, MBA, 2011 - "The Oxford trip was better than I expected, and my expectations were high already!"
Timothy Tait, 2011 - "The Oxford Study Abroad Program is a once in a lifetime experience and was definitely
the highlight to my master's program! The history and culture of England is amazing
in itself, but going and experiencing it through a Christian worldview makes it even
more fascinating. I highly recommend this program for all business students."
Nicole Reichenberger, 2009 - "The School of Business trip to Oxford was an incredible experience that I was fortunate
enough to participate in. Not only did it give me a chance to form a closer relationship
with my classmates and professors, but it also gave me the chance to learn how other
countries conduct their businesses. It was the trip of a lifetime to be given the
opportunity to attend class in a historic Oxford College and still have plenty of
time to explore the many aspects of England."
Amanda Tredinnick, MBA, 2009 - "For me, a visitor, I have to say, it was absolutely fabulous! It could not have been
a more enjoyable/memorable trip. I have it marked as one of the best trips I've ever
had. I think the university did an outstanding job of planning and organizing, making
everyone feel comfortable and part of the group; everyone was friendly and accommodating
and of course, the staff at Regents played a very important part on that side. Besides
enjoying the sites and learning so much, I just felt overwhelmed by the extraordinary
overall experience. A great mix of learning/seeing history and just plain FUN. Thanks
so much to the staff and to the university for allowing visitors to participate and
best of all to provide my daughter with the experience of a lifetime of learning and
experiencing Oxford."
Lena Robinson, 2009 - "The study abroad program at Oxford University was the perfect completion to my undergraduate
studies at CBU and added an irreplaceable aspect to my international business concentration.
The trip was packed with countless opportunities to observe business in an international
context and definitely expended my worldview. The lectures were very interesting and
applicable; I appreciated that the professors were very intentional (not to mention
extremely knowledgeable!) in the subjects that they spoke on. Each day was packed
with unbelievable sights and activities. It was definitely a whirlwind adventure!
It was very apparent that a lot of planning and preparation went into our experience.
This trip was the first in many more international experiences that I hope to have;
thank you, School of Business for providing me with the opportunity to explore one
area of the world and learn so much!"
Terra Gray, 2009 - "I loved the Oxford trip and was so pleased with the effort the instructors put into
making it an educational and memorable experience. It was my first trip to Europe
and it was a once in a lifetime experience that taught me to think more globally.
It made the earth a little smaller and allowed me to see the world as my neighbors
next door. The lectures and tours far exceeded my expectations and it cemented friendships
for life. I would recommend it to anyone and would love to do it again."
Cindy Thompson, 2009 - "During this time as we give thanks and praise to God for all of his blessings, I
would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to all of the professors and staff at
CBU and Regents College for their time, their hard work and their immense effort in
organizing the 2009 Oxford Trip. What an awesome time spent touring with fellow classmates
and studying at the prestigious Oxford University. Thank you for providing such a
great opportunity!"
Melanie Sapolu, 2009 - "We would like to say what an unbelievable experience your Cal Baptist school at Oxford
was for our son and us. We are the parents of an attending student and we spent some
time in Oxford visiting him there. We would highly recommend this program to any student
and parent. Your Oxford program was highly organized from start to finish. Our family
has been involved with school programs before and your Oxford program is by far the
best we have had. We toured the campus while in Oxford last summer and wow, what a
beautiful traditional English school. It reminded me of a Harry Potter type of school
campus."
Joseph and Carol Pisciotta (parents of Julian), 2009 - "First and foremost, the Oxford trip was beyond amazing. When I think about it sometimes,
words cannot express how blessed and thankful I was to experience a trip like this.
We had no problems out there and everything was organized and planned for. One of
my most memorable experiences was when we went to Blenheim Palace which I recommend
to anyone to go to if they ever visit England . . . Going there changed my life because
it was so beautiful that I was speechless. I walked along the lake path alone and
had a strong moment with God that I will never forget. I have thought about that day
at BP every day since I returned from the trip. It was amazing and unforgettable.
This is just one part of the trip . . . I can talk about it for days!!"
Eileen Kallo, 2008 - "Oxford was by far one of the most captivating and invigorating experiences of my
life. My eyes were opened to see beyond all that was taught in the classroom and through
textbooks, and I learned on a whole new level. Each tour was remarkably valuable and
significant holding rich historical meaning and inspiring new levels of appreciation
for the culture and heritage exhibited vastly throughout England. As I walked through
the lush greenery and surveyed the vibrant blooms, I often found myself deep in thought
and prayer which undoubtedly strengthened and renewed my relationship with the Lord.
The lectures were deep and insightful providing new sources of passion and excitement
for business as each speaker encouraged me to become a better business leader in order
to impact the world for Christ. Traveling to Oxford was definitely one of the best
decisions I have ever made and will forever characterize my experience with the School
of Business and California Baptist University."
Shelly Swope, 2008 - "I had an amazing life-changing experience! I couldn't have asked for a better trip.
England is so rich and full of history. I really enjoyed going to Blenheim Palace
and seeing the beautiful architecture. Going to C. S. Lewis' house, as well, was very
inspiring. We visited the Mini Cooper factory and learned so much. Oxford is an amazing
city, as is the rest of England. After visiting, I am really considering moving to
London for work after I graduate. It was such an experience that no person should
pass up. I learned so much not only about England but the rest of the world too. I
feel more globally aware and very motivated to go out and explore the rest of the
world. I am planning on going again once I start my master's."
Alison Poling, 2008 - "The trip was better than I had anticipated. In every way the CBU staff and the Oxford
staff made the entire trip worth going and very enjoyable. Many of the events they
planned were amazing and informative. I highly recommend the trip to all who are interested
in going next year and though it was sort of expensive it was worth every penny."
Daniel Reyes, 2008 - "Going to Oxford was one of my most cherished experiences in the Cal Baptist MBA program.
I not only learned about international business from some of today's leading experts,
but I also got to experience the culture, history and sites of another country at
the same time."
Julie Browning, 2003 - "I found the connection of the church to the university system fascinating."
Laura Cook, 2003 - "Inspirational, educational, informational and a one-of-a-kind trip to ancient wonders
and legendary lands, I'll be back next year to continue the journey."
Vince Daniels, 2002 - "We especially enjoyed the Oxford walking and bus tours. Visiting the Blenheim Palace,
Winston Churchill's grave site, and the Christ Church were unforgettable experiences.
All of the program speakers were world renowned and outstanding. We are so glad we
went to Oxford."
Ledford & Melva Cooke, 2002 - "The Oxford Program was a dream come true for me. I had lots of fun going to the places
that I had only seen on television or in the papers. It is always a better understanding
of anything when you can participate in it instead of being told of it. Take a pair
of sneakers or walking shoes."
Roosevelt Peters, 2002 - "What a remarkable learning experience! To be able to walk the footsteps of history,
learn from exceptional scholars and extremely successful businessmen and women with
living the actual Oxford student lifestyle gives one an actual perspective of international
commerce and adventure. Thanks for an opportunity of a lifetime."
JoAnne Cousino, 2002 - "This was one of the best experiences of my college career. It provided an excellent
blend between academia, practical knowledge and business experience. It also provided
students the opportunity to experience the full European culture."
Michael Kennedy, 2002 - "There were so many exciting features of the Oxford trip it is hard to select one.
Seeing where C. S. Lewis worked, ate, and debated; new friendships; scholarly presentations
on international business topics; the university culture; the Christian heritage of
early leaders like Wesley, Tyndale, Wycliffe and others; the Margaret Wheeler story
and opportunities to serve the Lord were all a part of this wonderful adventure."
