TESOL
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) for those who are interested in working with a multilingual, multicultural or international population at home or abroad.
Program Objectives
To provide excellent language teacher training in a variety of formats (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) to national and international students who wish to teach English as a second language primarily in countries other than the United States.
To provide students with:
- A Christian world view which provides the literary scholar a mechanism with which to explore God’s created world and examine his or her individual role in it as a person of faith.
- A theoretical and critical base from which to examine literature, explore the writing process, understand language, and ground scholarly research that is current, informed, and competitive.
- Pedagogical considerations that provide a balance of theory, content and application particularly for the fields of scholarly pursuits and teaching will be modeled and discussed.
- Comparative or interdisciplinary approach which allows students new avenues of research and investigation in keeping with current movements in the field and in education.
