The M.S. in Education offers candidates the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in a diverse range of specialties representing dynamic areas in the field of education. Candidates supplement core courses with specialized coursework in their chosen area of interest. For most concentrations below, candidates may use previously taken credential courses from our credential program to meet some of the degree requirements.

Special Education in Mild/Moderate Disabilities

This program is designed for candidates seeking the Preliminary Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate Disabilities. Admission requirements for the credential program are additional to those for the degree. Individuals may also pursue the master’s degree in special education without completing all of the credential requirements.

Special Education in Moderate/Severe Disabilities

This program is designed for candidates seeking the Preliminary Education Specialist Credential in Moderate/Severe Disabilities. Admission requirements for the credential program are additional to those for the degree. Individuals may also pursue the master’s degree in special education without completing all of the credential requirements.

Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

The M.S. in Education degree offers a specialization in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). This program is designed for those who are interested in working with a multilingual, multicultural or international population at home or abroad. Graduates will receive a certificate in TESOL. Teaching 

This program is designed for candidates seeking a Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential.  Admission requirements for the credential program are additional to those for the degree. Individuals may also pursue the master’s degree in teaching without completing all of the credential requirements.
