Master of Science in Civil Engineering
CBU’s M.S. in Civil Engineering (MSCE) is designed for students who intend to become civil engineers, or those currently practicing in the field who desire additional knowledge and training needed to move forward in their career.
Students benefit from small classes taught by caring faculty with industrial experience. The courses are designed in cooperation with the professional community and delivered in a Christ-honoring atmosphere.
Students tailor their educational experience to their professional goals and may pursue concentrated study within a Civil Engineering emphasis area: Environment and Water Resources, Structural, Transportation, Geotechnical and Construction. An emphasis in Engineering Sustainable Communities is also offered for students with a passion to serve the poor in underdeveloped areas worldwide.
Why our program?
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) considers a master’s degree the basic preparation necessary for entry into professional civil engineering practice. The breadth and depth of technical knowledge relevant to a practicing civil engineer is continuously expanding. Sustainable infrastructure, protection of human health and welfare and protection of the global environment are all necessary for any society. Cities, communities and rural areas face increasingly difficult infrastructure and environmental challenges. The MSCE program prepares students to design and implement appropriate and sustainable solutions to meet these challenges. Each student will conduct a multi-semester project, in collaboration with an industrial or academic client, demonstrating their skills and producing a useful and practical deliverable.
Students may pursue concentrated study within the following civil engineering emphasis areas:
- Water Resources
