Leadership Studies, B.A.

To address the crisis in leadership, CBU developed the leadership studies program, meant to equip students to lead formally and informally in workplaces, churches and in the home and community.

Program Intro

Students in CBU's leadership studies bachelor's program learn how to build teams, de-escalate conflict, implement change, develop social and political capital, make good and ethical decisions and communicate effectively for maximum impact. The leadership studies program is complementary to a primary major and will enhance students’ competitive edge in the job market. This degree can only be declared as a second major after enrollment.

Why Study Leadership Studies at CBU?

Understand leadership through a biblical mindset

Leadership studies will prepare students with the knowledge they need to be competent in their field of study and will be able to make wise decisions with a biblical mindset.

Master the soft skills of leadership

No matter which career path students take, it is essential to learn the basics of leadership, but so often people do not believe it is necessary to develop these soft skills. In this program, not only will students advance their leadership abilities, they will also acquire a strong background in leadership development that will ultimately broaden their opportunities in leadership positions in the workplace.

Attend the Leadership Seminar Series

The Leadership Seminar Series is a community service event free to the public. The seminars are hosted simultaneously live and online. The events occur throughout the year on CBU’s campus and are designed to enhance the effectiveness of emerging and established leaders.

Christina

The world is in desperate need of leaders, specifically Christian leaders, so I thought this would be a perfect add-on to my business administration major. In this program, I get to reflect and analyze my personal leadership styles, ask myself how I can better develop, and hear from great professors who have real-world experience. I have been able to begin implementing what I've learned into my everyday life here on campus.
