32 UNITS X $634 – 30% Christian School Employee Scholarship = $14,201 TUITION
$355/SEMESTER GENERAL FEE X 3 SEM [SU1, SP1, SU2] = $1065
$175/SEMESTER GENERAL FEE X 4 SEM [FA1, FA2, SP2, SU3] = $700
$15,966 TOTAL TUITION AND FEES [32 UNIT, 30% CS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM]
[REGULAR EDU MSE PROGRAM 20,288 + 1765 = $22,053 WITHOUT EDL FBS SCHOLARSHIP; THAT IS A $6,087 SAVINGS TO YOU!]
The tuition and fees are paid semester by semester over seven semesters. SU1, SP1, and SU2 also qualify for students loans (5 or more units), and one can take out enough for other expenses during those semesters in order to cover the other semesters or one can add elective units to any semester to make it qualify.
There is also the possibility of extra scholarship money for next year’s cohort; there will be five, $2K, extra scholarships available according to need for five of the first ten students accepted and ready to register by 5/1/17. This is above and beyond the CBU 30% tuition scholarship for this leadership program only for all working in Christian Ed. Contact Dr. Heyman for an application. This would reduce the total cost to $13,966, well below Cal State prices for a secular program.
Summer apartments are available during our June 19-30 on campus classes for $20.40 per night stayed and usually shared with a same gender student from this program only. They have kitchens, dining areas, living room with study desks, bedrooms, and bathroom. Dining is also available in various on campus venues.
Two Way Mutual Investment, Candidate/Board Proposal
Here is a proposal you can take to your board to ask them to invest in you while you invest in the school and educational community which you and they oversee in Him.
- Phase One: you agree to pay some, agreed upon percentage of your graduate program costs out of your own pocket as you go through the program.
- Phase Two: You take out student loans for the agreed upon remainder, perhaps 50/50, and the board agrees to make the payments for you on the loans when they come due at the end of the two year program and for as long as you continue in their employ thereafter.
This way they are investing in your personal growth and longevity as a leader in Christian education while you are investing in the betterment of the school through the benefits of your growth; mutual investment!
Would be glad to come and present this to your board and discuss any questions they might have about the Educational Leadership for Faith-Based Schools MSE specialization and how it will benefit both of you.
