Study on campus and through virtual learning
This concentration is in its 18th year and is solely focused on present and future leadership in Christian schools. The program has hybrid delivery, so there are two weeks of intensive, residential classes on campus in the summer, and weekly virtual, live and interactive, evening classes during the spring and fall semesters.

Learn from professional Christian educators
The professors are present or former Christian school leaders with doctoral training. They look first and foremost to the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in Jesus to light the way and inform theory and practice. Students are focused on Christian education and both spiritual and academic growth. The readings, discussions, assignments and cross pollination are all directed to becoming a godly leader and educator who can help build a godly school community.

Leadership, Worldviews and Contemporary Issues

EDU 501

Students will evaluate a range of contemporary issues related to education from different leadership and worldview perspectives and develop a worldview and leadership philosophy.

Philosophy of Education, Biblical Leadership, and Spiritual Integration for Faith-Based Schools

The course explores questions such as “What is a philosophy of Christian education? Why it is a valid question? How does one develop the scriptural case for a truly Christian education?”

Governance, policy, and marketing issues in Christian education and their interrelations with a faith based philosophy of education and educational leadership.

1. Who should enroll?
This program is designed for persons who serve (or will serve) in a wide variety of administrative or leadership roles in faith-based educational institutions.

2. Is the program accredited?
The university as a whole is accredited by the regional Western Association of Schools and Colleges and this program is offered by CBU's prestigious Metcalf School of Education. Students completing this graduate-level degree will meet the educational studies requirements for the Association of Christian Schools International's (ACSI) Professional Administrator's Credential (additional categories of requirements would still apply).

3. Does CBU provide living accommodations for the summer courses?
Yes—inexpensive on-campus apartment accommodations are available for the summer, two-week session at $32/night on a per diem basis.
