CBU's sport management degree prepares students for administrative careers in the fields of athletics, fitness, recreation, sport and tourism.
Program Intro
Students in CBU's sport management bachelor's program take courses primarily in the area of kinesiology but will learn industry-related content.

Students have access to relevant professional development in a NCAA Division 1 athletics environment. CBU has the only undergraduate sport management degree of any Christian NCAA Division I university in California. Our interdisciplinary coursework encourages broad training for diverse opportunities in sport. We also have state-of-the-art sport performance equipment and facilities that prepare students in a dynamic educational setting.

Small faculty-to-student ratio allows students personalized faculty mentoring and development. Faculty have diverse doctoral degrees, represent different areas of specialization and build relationships with students through excellent teaching, scholarship and service.
What You'll Learn
- Students will demonstrate basic and advanced levels of content knowledge in the sport
management academic discipline including human movement, economics, human resources,
governance, media and more.
- Graduating students will have knowledge of the psychological techniques and consulting
skills used to improve performance and overcome personal barriers.
- Students will demonstrate ability in critical thinking and problem-solving. Demonstrate
the ability to thoroughly analyze issues and reach solutions to common problems in
the sport management profession.
- Students will demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in multiple forms and
channels including but not limited to formal and informal, verbal and non-verbal,
vertical and horizontal, old and new media.
- Students will understand how to view and apply concepts in sports and performance psychology through a Christian lens.
Program Details
KIN 305: Applied Sport Management
A study of basic management principles and their application to the field of sport.
KIN 315: Sport Governance
This course is an examination of sport organizations focused on both professional and amateur governance structures and processes.
KIN 433: Sports and Activities Practicum
Practical field experience in a professional kinesiology setting.
