An in-depth examination of security regulations, requirements, and environment in the U.S., including the role of the Department of Homeland Security in ensuring aviation security.

Aviation Safety

AVN 322

An introduction to the safety regulations, requirements, and environment in the U.S., including an in-depth examination of Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Airplane Aerodynamics

FLT 350

This course studies the physical principles of airplane aerodynamics. Course involves examining the factors affecting aircraft performance, stability and control, and special flight conditions often experienced by commercial pilots of fixed-wing aircraft.

Student Learning Outcomes

Consistent with the university student outcomes, upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Professional Pilot degree, graduates will be able to:

Analyze the professional attributes, requirements, and planning applicable to aviation careers in how they relate to professional and ethical decisions.
Apply mathematics, science, and applied sciences to aviation-related disciplines through analysis and interpretation of data.
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills in multi-disciplinary and diverse teams.
Evaluate the impact of national and international aviation law, regulations and labor issues on national and international aviation operations.
Analyze aircraft operations to include aircraft design, performance and operating characteristics in how they contribute to aviation safety.

The Lord opened the door for me to attend the USAF Academy and after that fly the A-10A and F-15E with the honor to fly both in combat. I love flying and hope to instill that within the students the Lord sends to the CBU aviation department so they may serve Him with their heart, soul, mind and strength.
