Federal agency honors California Baptist University for community service

RIVERSIDE, CA (March 15, 2012) – The Corporation for National and Community Service has named California Baptist University to the 2012 President's Honor Roll for engaging students, faculty and staff in substantial, relevant and meaningful service to communities. CBU was among some 600 colleges and universities recognized at different tiers for exemplary, innovative and effective community service programs.

Institutions named to the President's Honor Roll are chosen based on series of selection factors including scope and innovation of service projects, percentage of student participation in service activities, incentives for service, and the extent to which the school offers academic service-learning courses. The 2012 President's Honor Roll lists CBU among 513 higher education institutions honored for engaging students and others in substantial, relevant and meaningful service to communities.

The Corporation for National and Community Service is a federal agency that engages more than five million Americans in service through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America, and leads the president's national call to service initiative, United We Serve.
