AVONDALE, Ariz. – California Baptist University came close to history Monday and then came back and rewrote part of its record book Tuesday, capturing its first tournament championship of the season with its best ever two-round score.

CBU rallied from third place and a four-stroke gap after day one to win the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate with a 587. The Lancers shot a 291 Tuesday, which is just one stroke off the program's best-ever round, to win the tournament by 13 strokes. Read the full story by clicking here.
