CBU Wins Fourth-Straight Usa College Championship Title
ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 23, 2015) — For the fourth consecutive year, California Baptist University won the largest
cheer competition on the West Coast, the USA College Championship. The win also keeps
the Lancers undefeated since 2013 on their way to their third-straight National Cheerleaders
Association Championship.
CBU beat out NCAA Division I Northern Arizona by almost 10 points to grab the title,
ending with a score of 92.53. NAU took second with 82.82 points, followed by Concordia
with 79.49 points and Cal State Stanislaus 78.31.
Four Lancers also made history to be the first stunt group to compete in the competition
and took second with a strong showing. Raven Rivera, Katarina McKnight, Briana Davee
and Taylor Hendricksen — who have already qualified for the NCA Championship competition
— finished just 3.80 points behind first-place Cal Poly Pomona (Division I). The Lancers'
score of 85.07 beat out NAU's 84.29 points and Cal State Dominguez Hills 75.38 points.
There's just one last step on the road to becoming the first all-girl team to win
three consecutive NCA Championships as the Lancers host the Cheer Showcase on April
2 at 7 p.m. CBU heads to Daytona Beach, Fla., just a week later to try to end the
2015 campaign on the highest of notes.
