CBU President Accepts Als Ice Bucket Challenge
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Aug. 22, 2014)—Dr. Ronald L. Ellis, president of California Baptist University, accepted the challenge of CBU students today to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge™ to help fight Lou Gehrig's Disease.
The challenge involves individuals being recorded on video while being doused with a bucket of ice water. Participants may either accept the challenge, make a donation to the ALS Association, or do both. As of Aug. 22, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge™ donations have reached $53.3 million, according to alsa.com.
Before his drenching, Ellis said he and First Lady Jane Ellis "also are making a monetary contribution to this worthy cause." CBU's Lancer mascot assisted by pouring ice water over Ellis at the CBU Aquatics Center. The video can be viewed by clicking here.
