CBU Men's and Women's Soccer Win Second Consecutive Nccaa Titles

CBU men's and women's soccer win second consecutive NCCAA titles

RIVERSIDE (Dec. 1,2012)-California Baptist University men's and women's soccer teams both repeated NCCAA championships Saturday as they defeated Fresno Pacific University and Southern Nazarene University, respectively.

The women beat Southern Nazarene 3-0, giving up just two shots, both in the second half. CBU handed out two quick goals in the first four minutes of the game as Kelly Jenks put the Lancers on the board in the third minute before Daelyn Paul made it 2-0 less than a minute later. Jenks got her second goal in the 67th minute to seal it for CBU.

In the men's game, the Lancers trailed 2-0 with 34 minutes left. The team came back to score three goals in the final 28 minutes, capped by Marc Hope's winning goal with 7.8 seconds left. Fresno Pacific had been seeded first in the tournament.
