CBU Lockdown Lifted After Weapon Threat Determined Invalid

RIVERSIDE (July 28, 2014) -- California Baptist University was placed on lockdown Monday afternoon following an unconfirmed report of a "female with a gun" on the main campus.

The initial report was made in an anonymous phone call to a police department that relayed the information to CBU's Department of Safety Services. University officials instructed the campus community to remain indoors while the report was investigated.

The lockdown was lifted approximately 30 minutes later after a review of video security tapes and a search of the campus with assistance by Riverside Police Department failed to confirm the threat.
