CBU Gallery Hosting Cesar E. Chavez Exhibit June 4-8
RIVERSIDE (June 6, 2013)—The California Baptist University (CBU) Art Gallery will host an exhibit June 4-8 to memorialize civil rights leader Cesar E. Chavez. The exhibit is part of a week's activities in Riverside titled Remembering a hero, celebrating a legacy: Cesar E. Chavez Vive.
As part of the exhibit, an artist's reception at the gallery June 6 will feature the work of memorial sculptor Ignacio Gomez. More than 15 regional artists will have pieces on display with the themes of labor and farmworkers. Live music will be performed by Quinta Penas.
The gallery exhibit, which is located at 3737 Main Street, will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The memorial observance will culminate with the unveiling of a monument to Chavez at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, on Riverside's Downtown Pedestrian Mall, located at University div id = "rssurl" style = "display:none"> https://www.calbaptist.edu/dashboard/page_importer/export/
