CBU College of Allied Health To Host Dr. G. Richard Olds
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2015) -- California Baptist University's College of Allied Health will host Dr. G. Richard Olds for its 2014-2015 Distinguished Lecture Series on Feb. 10. Olds is vice chancellor of health affairs and founding dean of the School of Medicine at the University of California, Riverside.
The lecture series explores local and national issues and trends as they relate to health and features leaders from various disciplines. Olds will speak on "Revenge of the Rainforest" at 6 p.m. in the Innovators Auditorium.
Olds is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was an infectious disease fellow at University Hospitals of Cleveland, where he also served as medical chief resident and a faculty member. In 1986, Olds went to Brown University where he rose to full professor and headed that institute's International Health Institute.
In 1993, he became professor and chairman of medicine at the MetroHealth Campus of Case Western Reserve University, and in 2000, he was appointed as professor and chair of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In 2010, he became vice chancellor of health affairs and founding dean of the School of Medicine at UCR.
