Holistic Approach to Depression

Spiritual Self-Care

Prayer, scripture, worship music, and reading God's Word can help you develop a different perspective on suffering, giving you purpose for your pain.

Psychological Self-Care

Counseling can help you process the impact of depression, examine contributing factors, and
provide additional coping skills to help you manage your depression symptoms.

Social Self-Care

Stay connected and engaged. Join a support group to connect you with others who experience similar struggles. Support groups can be a source of comfort and provide a feeling of being understood.

Physical Self-Care

  • Proper nutrition
  • Adequate hydration/water intake
  • Exercise (even just a short walk outside)
  • Proper sleep hygiene
  • If taking medication, take it consistently as directed by your physician.

"Carry one another's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ."

Galatians 6:2   |   NIV
