Cory Candelas holds a Master of Science of Psychology from California Baptist University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Southern California and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#106895). Cory is certified in EMDR (a trauma processing therapy) and has a private practice in Riverside.  Prior to becoming the Lead Clinical Supervisor in 2023, Cory spent almost 8 years as a Deputy Sheriff with Riverside County while also working at the Grove Counseling and Community Center where she supervised trainees, interns, and clinicians for Rebirth Homes, an outreach and recovery program for victims of human trafficking. In her Private Practice Cory focuses on trauma processing and improving family functioning for first responders, healthcare workers, teachers and their families.  Cory teaches peer support and psycho-education wellness courses through The Counseling Team International to first responders, works on-call critical incidents, and conducts CISM (Critical Incident and Stress Management) debriefs.  Cory has been married to Juan for 25 years and they have a son, Eddie and a French Bulldog, Otis.
