GenSend
GenSend is a national discipleship project offered through the North American Mission Board that helps students develop missional living skills in the context of church planting to equip them for a lifetime of making disciples who make disciples. It also attempts to introduce students to missional pathways that encourage and equip them to become a part of building God’s Kingdom across North America through church planting.
Who Is Right for GenSend?
GenSend applicants must be a follower of Christ who shows a general interest in the world of church planting. They must have a willingness to serve a local church planter and learn to adapt to a wide variety of ministry settings.
Application and Interview Process

- Complete and submit a 2026 Summer Service Project application.
- Attend a Summer Service Project interview. Applicants will be invited to sign up for an interview.
- If approved to move forward with the application process for GenSend, applicants will complete a secondary GenSend application.
- An interview will be scheduled by the director of your city of choice.
- If city approved, you will be officially assigned to a city.
Program Details

- Program is for 6-8 weeks in May-June or June-July.
- Costs will include your housing, transportation, and a stipend for your food.
- You will not need a vehicle during the project.
- However, you are responsible for initial transportation to the project (i.e. initial flight and car ride to the project location).
