International Celebration Week

International Celebration Week is promoted by the U.S. Department of Education and celebrated on college campuses all over the United States. We highlight multiple aspects of culture throughout each day of the week through events that highlight music, food, sports, and games!

Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is an important holiday for many of our international students and we want to celebrate alongside our students!  Every year on campus we ring in the Lunar New Year with food, boba milk tea, a photo booth with traditional East Asian clothing, and student and professional performances.

Festival of Color

Festival of Color is a night to celebrate Indian culture, one of our largest international student population on campus. The evening starts with a bazaar where students can bargain for food, henna, and chai. The bazaar is followed by student performances representing traditional Indian or Bollywood style dancing. Finally we end with the Color War, celebrated in India to inaugurate the beginning of spring.

Conversation Partner Program

The conversation partner program is an opportunity designed to partner domestic and international students. Over the course of a semester, partners will design a schedule that works well for them and meet once a week for a minimum of one hour. Students will not only improve their English but also have an opportunity to learn about one another's country and culture in a conversation-based program. Partners are also encouraged to attend on-campus events together. If you are interested in applying to be a conversation partner, please fill out the application here.

International Chapel

International Chapel

We understand our students come from all different backgrounds and beliefs. International Chapel is an opportunity for those in our Intensive English Program and our undergraduate students to learn more about Christianity in a smaller, discussion based setting. During International Chapel we have the opportunity to hear the stories from the Bible and discuss in small groups what was taught. As undergraduate students at CBU, you are required to attend 15 chapels in a semester and International Chapel is a great way to complete this. If you are interested in being a group leader for International Chapel, please fill out the application here.

Cultural Cafe

Cultural Café

Cultural Café is a once a month opportunity to highlight and experience a different culture through food, music, games and art. Each month we partner with our international students to provide an opportunity for them to show their culture to the CBU community. This is a chance to experience something new and meet some great people in the process.
