The award recognizes educators who demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching, an ability to excite students to learn, respect students as individuals, and an enduring artistic curiosity.

Her nomination included the following statements: “Wendy's attention to detail, punctuality, customer service and overall calm and consistent presence have positively impacted our staff and students. Dr. Ed Garrett, professor of sport and performance psychology, was appointed as the division leader for the newly formed Division of Sport and Performance Psychology with The American Association of Christian Counselors.

Recreation

CBU Campus Recreation

Campus Recreation staff and student interns participated in two service projects in Riverside on Aug. 18 as part of the students’ professional development training. One group helped the Stone Arbor Church prepare for an outdoor movie outreach event on its new campus. Tasks included setting up tables, chairs and the large inflatable screen. The other group assisted in a Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful Project near campus. The team collected seven 60-gallon trash bags of litter and miscellaneous items.

Student Leadership Workshop

The CBU Career Center hosted the 21st Annual Student Leadership Workshop on Aug. 12. Recruiters and leaders from Northrup Grumman, Lockheed Martin, The Aerospace Company, Chevron, Collins Aerospace, Southern California Edison and more met with 112 engineering student leaders from colleges and universities throughout California. The keynote speaker, Dr. Candice Givens, vice president of Northrop Grumman, spoke on Diversity & Inclusion for Everyday Leadership. Lisa Blair, director of the Career Center and Pablo Hidalgo, assistant director for Industry Partnership, presented Business Etiquette.

Sydney Leisz, assistant professor of kinesiology, and her husband, Joey, welcomed a daughter on Aug. 18. Wren Emerson Leisz weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 20.5 inches.

Oliver George Saunders

Bronte Saunders, coordinator of retention and re-entry in the Office of Student Success, and her husband welcomed a son on Aug. 22. Oliver George Saunders weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 20.5 inches.
