Dr. Mary Ann Nogaki Stahovich, former Mayor Rusty Bailey and student Francis Duenas

California Baptist University hosted a Veterans Health Care Appreciation Symposium on May 10, and Dr. Mary Ann Nogaki Stahovich, associate professor of physician assistant studies, co-organized it. The event included health presentations, information booths by CBU Veteran Resource Center and the Riverside County Veterans Services. Stahovich and Daniel Iracheta (’23), a veteran, spoke about service-related injuries and veteran well-being. Veterans also received recognition: Tracy Palmer (’11), Dr. Allan Bedashi, PA program founder at CBU, singer Jerome Robinson, former Mayor Rusty Bailey, and former Sen. Richard Roth.

Aviation and engineering faculty and staff attended the inaugural Aerospace Expo in Riverside at the Riverside Airport on May 31. Cameron Singh, assistant professor of aviation science, Michael Medero, flight instructor, Cesar Portugal, adjunct professor of aviation science, Rhonda Clement, director of strategic initiatives for the College of Engineering, and Evan Hu and Jeremy Go, both aviation students, attended. CBU had a plane on display on the tarmac and a booth. CBU Aviation was honored with certificates of recognition from Riverside Mayor Patricia Locke Dawson and Councilman Steven Robillard.

Luke Freese (’24), son of John Freese, director of Safety Services, graduated from the police academy on March 6 and was sworn into the Corona Police Department on March 10. He is currently in the police officer field training program.
